Magic Tricks

A dear friend of mine will be performing at the Colony Cafe on Jan. 19th! Rory Raven is his stage name, and he is a sight of hand magician! His interests lies in the Spiritualist movement of the 1800's...seances and the lot. The fun part is that he is of the Penn and Teller school where he will tell you right up front that he is doing a trick... and then blows your mind as to how he creates an illusion.

Here is a link to the Cafe's schedule which includes a link to Rory's youtube.

jenn darling, I should probably send you a private message, but I have just discovered the BEST author you Must go get a copy of The Orphan's Tales by Cathrynne Valente you will Ooh and Aah on every page, it is exquisitly inventive, fairy tales and more for grown ups, in the style of the Arabian nights. I thought others might be interested too! Definitely not for normal folk, not that we know any.

If and When the Miz Russell decides to grace us with her presence, I will double that contribution and make sure to show up myself! So don't let our dear listeners down, Mz Russell! :)

And I (if I am not cross booked which is increasingly likely these days) will endeavor to DJ that night and cover known favorite sonic territory of both faery queens in attendance.

              Well, well...

What a coincidence, I just happened to log onto Tribe today to announce that I'm coming down for a couple Frolics !

I'm planning on coming to the March 15 and April 5th dances. I was wondering if perhaps, dare I say, that there might be a brunch after one or the other, and that ...please excuse my forwardness....*blush*.... that one of the dances (or both) be a BALL??

I have already begun to acquire new frocks for these events, and depending on the response of the BALL issue, I may put more time and energy into them. Additionally, I also want to put out there that I will be bringing slip dresses worn in past Frolics that I shall be giving away...making room for new, you know.

              So what do you think?

              Much love,
              Jen

That sounds SO fabulous .... but ....

March 15th is an EntheoCentric Salon at CoSM for which I am booked. April 5th being the Saturay before the first Sunday of the month which usually equals the set up date for CHuRCH is likely to be booked for that reason but much is in the air of change at Grand space and we will also be doing CHuRCH on the Last Sundays of the month at LOVE starting Easter Sunday. So I'll check back in and if I can free up the time of april 5th I'd love to DJ The Ball

Interestingly enough, we've had Mikio down as a "maybe" for April 5 Frolic DJing-- Mikio, can you spin that night? Let me know ASAP.

honestly we've got the worldinfamousbassshamanicDJyoudidn'thearithere actively discussing playing at CHuRCH at LOVE the next day so I should be neck deep in prep.

If the the 2 aforementioned rarely seen lovelies were to be at the Frolic I'd try to pull it off but otherwise I'll take a chance to get 3 hours of sleep before the tumolt ensues. So that means "no" unless they say "definitely yes" :-)
